Member of the GTB

Werner Lieblang

In 1974, when Werner Lieblang first programmed a microprocessor at the Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany had just become Soccer World Champions for the second time. That was over 40 years ago. Today he is tutor at Díaz & Hilterscheid Unternehmensberatung GmbH, and the participants of the ISTQB® Certified Tester courses, who he prepares for their exams, profit from his wealth of experience.

His career has covered a wide variety of different aspects, starting with software development, continuing with leading electro-technical projects and leading to consultancy in software quality assurance. In the eighties he developed safety-critical software for railway points systems. The consequences of a software failure in the railway operations resulted in software quality being very much in focus, even back then. After changing to the automotive industry, Werner Lieblang was responsible at ABB Flexible Powertrain Assembly GmbH for the entire software of the production lines for motors and gear-boxes. He further intensified his know-how in the area of software quality assurance after a change to SQS AG in 1999, where he worked as a department head. Since 2005 he is Managing Partner at Díaz & Hilterscheid Unternehmensberatung GmbH.

The graduated engineer came to the GTB to further improve the quality of the exams, which he has come to know as a tutor over many years. In addition, he would like to apply his motivation to building bridges between the participants of ISTQB® courses and the GTB. Apart from his involvement at the GTB, he is actively involved in the working group „Test, Analysis and Verification of Software“ (TAV) at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Informatik.
