Marco Weißenborn proudly received the 10,000th certificate for ISTQB® Certified Tester in Germany. The software developer from the chip card producer Sagem Orga was presented with the certificate on 24th September 2008 on the occasion of the GTB Forum in Potsdam. By the end of the year, the German Testing Board (GTB) e.V. anticipates to have awarded almost 14,000 Certified-Tester certificates in Germany.

„I took part in the Certified Tester training serminar as a software developer“, commented Marco Weißenborn, „because in my job I have dealings with my colleagues from software quality assurance almost every day.“ The software testing know-how helps in the communication: „We now speak one common technical language“, explains the developer. Besides, he feels that he is now better qualified to perform his own testing duties more quickly. He is therefore also considering to take part in the training seminars for the Advanced Level certificate.
