Maud Schlich
„You don’t test enough!“ Maud Schlich remembers these words from one of her former bosses very well, said during her time as a student trainee when she first came into contact with software testing. She soon realised that this work is not made up of dull theory and formal documentation, but rather points to new ways for quality assurance and testing, which will help to solve problems in organisations or prevent problems from arising in the first place.
Questions of quality assurance and tester training have continued to occupy Maud Schlich throughout her professional career. Particularly formative were her experiences with the implementation of the ISO 9001 standard, to which she made a significant contribution with corresponding software. This was followed by several years as a scientific officer at the Fraunhofer Institute Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern. During this time, Maud Schlich specialised further, also in her publications, on the subject of software testing and the training required in this context.
Since 2004, she has been a self-employed consultant and trainer for her company Maud Schlich IT-PROJECT-SERVICE. The focal point of her work is the technical coaching of quality managers and test managers. In her engagement at the GTB in the „Advanced Level“ working party, she also places particular value on the professional training of testers. Together with her colleagues, she ensures that the corresponding GTB syllabi are always up to date. Her objective is that the ISTQB® Certified Tester ‚Advanced Level’ and ‚Expert Level’ continue to become recognised trademarks for proven test experts.
