When Anton Schlatter first came into contact with software testing back in 1996, he was initially not overly enthusiastic. This, however, changed quickly. Anton Schlatter, who today is Business Development Manager at the German organisation of the globally operating consultancy house Logica Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, realised: Software testing offers diverse development perspectives for IT specialists and enormous economic potential for businesses.

In the meantime, Anton Schlatter plays a leading role in the testing business of the German Logica Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, where he is in charge of a business unit, which currently focusses its main attention on the growing business of outsourcing testing activities. From the approximately 40,0000 employees of Logica Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, ca. 3,500 are employed as testing professionals worldwide. Anton Schlatter is active in the consultancy for testing processes, organisation and management. One of his particular interests is  test automation.

Software quality assurance has fascinated the test expert for more than ten years now. He likes the fact that this field of business continues to be open for people coming from a different educational background, especially since this job profile is a viable proposition for people wanting to choose a new direction in their careers. He sees the GTB as an organisation which improves the career prospects of testing professionals and actively influences the job market in the field of software testing. He therefore whole-heartedly supports the idea that the GTB pulls all the strings relating to software testing in Germany – whether as an organiser of events, as a source of services and information, or as custodian of qualification and training quality.

Apart from his job and his work for the GTB, Anton Schlatter is also actively involved in the specialist group „Testing, Analysis and Verification“ of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI). He regularly puts his experience and know-how up for discussion in the interested community of software testers, prinicipally at events such as the Software & Systems Quality Conferences,  CONQUEST or EuroSTAR.
